On September 6, 1946, U.S. Secretary of State James F. Byrnes delivered his famous Speech of Hope at the Stuttgart opera house – the turning point of German-American relations after WWII. The same year, an American library was founded that turned into the Amerikahaus and later led to the foundation of the DAZ. Throughout the year, the DAZ is offering events and programs to celebrate the 75 years of transatlantic partnership that have passed since the speech was held in Stuttgart.
On November 23, we will return to the historic place at the opera in Stuttgart to commemorate and celebrate these special events. Join us for our anniversary program with guests and performances and a reception to follow. More information and the program will be announced soon.
