A very important year lies ahead of us – the 2020 U.S. presidential election promises to be suspenseful, with the biggest and most diverse Democratic candidate field to ever run and with a few Republican contenders who are casting an eye on the coveted position as well. The upcoming election is significant for the U.S. and the results will have an impact on the rest of the world as well. That’s why the DAZ has prepared this special exhibition, in which we take a closer look at the 2020 election and its presidential hopefuls as well as the U.S electoral system in general.
Our exhibition gives an overview of U.S. election basics, the presidential office and other political offices, the two major parties as well as third parties. Moreover, the exhibit illustrates the particularities of the U.S. electoral system, e.g. primaries, caucuses, conventions, debates, and the electoral college. Further on display is an overview of books, movies, and TV shows regarding the 2020 election that can be found in our library as well as a list of upcoming events that the DAZ has prepared and partnered up for with numerous cooperation partners. Moreover, you will find a display of general voting procedures and rights, polling, campaign financing and the influence of the media.
The exhibition will be on display Tue – Fri 09.00 – 13.00 h and 14.00- 17.00 h.
