Gran Torino is part of the Abitur Schwerpunktthema The Ambiguity of Belonging.

The film Gran Torino explores racism and intercultural conflict through the character of Korean War veteran Walt Kowalski and a Hmong teenager who attempts to steal his most valued possession: a 1972 Gran Torino.

In this school special, our teacher Elena Fort will review the most important aspects of the plot before exploring the key themes of the film. Besides the issues of redemption and cultures clashing, the film also addresses the role masculinity plays in shaping the life of an individual.

Whether you’re about to take your exam next school year or are simply interested in American movies and culture – join us for this online seminar with Q&A afterwards.
