Are you an avid reader of American literature? Then join us for lively discussions about books by American writers, with a focus on contemporary authors! In each of our monthly sessions, we talk about a work of fiction, non-fiction, or poetry, or a play.
This month we are going to discuss Hard Times: An Oral History of the Great Depression by Studs Terkel (1970) – a retelling of the oral history of the longest and deepest financial crisis of the 20th century. Providing an equal representation of experiences across a broad spectrum of socio-economic status, the book has been called „a true classic,“ and „a vivid window on the Great Depression“ (New York Times).
