The Midterm Elections are just around the corner, with all seats in the House of Representatives and a little more than one-third of the Senate up for reelection. For the first time since his election in 2020, President Biden and his administration will be put to test. Significant losses for Democrats are very likely, and the slim majority Democrats currently hold in Congress could be gone. What does this mean for the Democratic Party and the second half of Biden’s term? And what could be the consequences for American democracy?

In this special event for schools, American journalist John Nichols (The Nation) will share his inside knowledge of the election process and the role of the media in the outcome of this year’s elections. Afterwards, he will answer students‘ questions about the current political situation and the future of democracy in the United States.

This event is mainly intended for school classes but everyone interested in the topic is welcome to join!
