Board of Directors

The German-American Center is a registered association (“eingetragener Verein”), and it operates under the oversight of a board of directors and a managing board.

Chair: Dr. Florian Stegmann, Minister of State and Head of the State Chancellery

Dr. Florian Stegmann studied law at the University of Konstanz and received his doctorate in environmental criminal law. Upon completion of his legal training in 2002, he started working as a lawyer in Stuttgart before entering the judicial service of the State of Baden-Württemberg in 2005. He joined the State Ministry in 2011, where he took on various leadership responsibilities over time and was eventually promoted to the Head of Department I. In October 2018, Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann appointed him as State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery.
In May 2021, Dr. Stegmann became Minister of State and Head of the State Chancellery Baden-Württemberg.

On January 25, 2019, the board of directors elected Dr. Florian Stegman as the new chairman.
