Our name says it all. The DAZ is the German-American Center for the Stuttgart metropolitan area and the surrounding region. We focus on German-American relations, and we help people from the U.S. and Germany to learn more about and better understand each other’s culture.

The DAZ is a place for Americans (and other people from countries outside of Germany) to connect with the local community, and find a home away from home. Our offerings include books, movies and magazines in our library, and a range of groups and events in English. We celebrate both American culture and German-American friendship. Our programs also provide you with insight into German perspectives on the USA and transatlantic relations. We take an objective approach to analyzing U.S. culture and society, but we always aim to explore even the most complex topics in an informative and entertaining way.

As the go-to organization in Stuttgart for everything related to the USA, we foster connections among organizations and institutions within the German-American community. The DAZ provides a space for conversations and encounters involving individual local residents, experts, and key figures in various fields, from business to politics and culture.
