Membership & Opportunities
for Involvement

There are several ways for you to get involved with the DAZ. A membership allows you to support our work while enjoying a variety of perks. As a charitable organization, we use donations from companies and private individuals to help carry out our projects and contribute to intercultural understanding.

Becoming a Member

As an association, we depend on the commitment of our members. With your membership, you will support our work and receive several benefits at the same time.

As a member, you’ll receive free or reduced-rate entry to our cultural events. Furthermore, we invite our members to a range of special events, and there are events that are planned specifically for members, such as our Fourth of July Celebration. Members also enjoy reduced fees for our language courses, and your membership includes free use of our English-language library. In addition, as a member you’ll receive exclusive access to eBooksUSA, a lending platform for e-books and audio books.

Finally, you have the opportunity to actively participate in the work of the DAZ: at least once a year, we have a general assembly. All members are eligible to vote on important issues concerning the association.

You can join as an individual or together with your family; businesses may also become members:

Students: 15 euros
Individuals: 50 euros
Families: 70 euros (Couples or individuals with children who are under 18, or who have not yet completed their education)
Corporate Membership: 175 euros

If you would like contribute even more to our institute, we’d be happy to offer you a „supporting membership,“ which is available to both individuals and businesses. These memberships provide a valuable contribution to our activities.

Supporting Membership: Amount of your choice over 250 euros

Your membership is valid for one year, and will be automatically renewed unless you cancel in writing at least three months before the end of the calendar year. You can find more information about memberships in our articles of association (in German). In order to become a member, you need only to fill out our membership form and send it in via regular surface mail, e-mail, or fax.

Individual Donations &
Corporate Giving

There are different ways to give to the DAZ, from individual donations to ongoing financial support. Your donation can make a real difference in one of our programs or services — for instance, it might help us purchase new media for the library, or plan programs for teenagers and young adults, such as our Youth Club. All donations to the DAZ are tax-deductible, and we’d be happy to send you a receipt for your donation.

In order to put on major events like the American Days festival, we depend on financial support from outside organizations, including foundations and businesses. If your company is interested in learning more about ways to support our work, whether on an ongoing basis or with a one-time donation, please get in touch with us!

Our director, Christiane Pyka, will be happy to hear from you, and to talk with you about corporate support for the DAZ.
