The Association of German-American Centers cordially invites you to its new digital event series: once a month, we will get toghether with experts to discuss cutting-edge transatlantic topics – brief and to the point.

To kick things off, we welcome Dr. Eric Langenbacher. The political scientist analyzes current developments in the USA, with a particular focus on political culture, collective memory and the relationship to Germany and Europe. The conversation will be moderated by Viktoria Harbecke, VDAZ Chairwoman and Director of AmerikaHaus NRW. Dr. Eric Langenbacher

is a Teaching Professor and Director of the Senior Honors Program in the Department of Government at Georgetown University, where he teaches comparative politics. He also serves as Director of the Society, Culture and Politics Program at the American-German Institute. He is the author of Comparative Politics: Mapping Institutions, Power, and Legitimacy (2024) and co-author of The German Polity (12th ed., 2021). His research focuses on political culture, collective memory, political institutions, and U.S., German, and European politics.
