In February Let’s Read will discuss Go Tell it on the Mountain by James Baldwin.

Baldwin’s first novel,  considered a classic in contemporary African American literature, follows the story of John Grimes as he grapples with his religious faith and complex family dynamics on his fourteenth birthday. The novel can be considered “semi-autobiographical,” as Baldwin’s personal experiences of racism, navigating sexuality, and religion influenced his writing and these themes are found in Go Tell it On the Mountain.
