In June Let’s Read will discuss Shadow Ticket by Thomas Pynchon (293 pp).

Private Investigator Hicks McTaggart sets off to find a wandering heiress, but by the time he realizes this is no ordinary case, he finds himself dragged from Great Depression Milwaukee to Hungary, where a world of spies, automatons, swing musicians, and occultists unfolds. Punchy and topical, Pynchon’s latest, and likely last, novel shows off his wise-cracking style to hilarious effect.
