Are you an avid reader and enjoy American literature? Then join us and let’s read together! In each of our monthly sessions, we focus on a particular book, novel, short story or collection of poems. We critically examine our previously announced reading and discuss it in detail.
This time we are going to discuss I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, which is her first and most noted memoir that instantly became a modern American classic. The St. Louis native was an author, poet, historian, songwriter, playwright, dancer, stage and screen producer, director, performer, singer, and civil rights activist. However, she was best known for her seven autobiographical books.
